This book provides a lot of historical information from Egypt, Greeks, to roman art..it is an exquisite book. I recommend this book. :P. It provides many art pictures and dates estimated to the time periods of the art. Its a really easy read, i needed this book for a Art class and learned a lot from it.

Short Sweet Escape

I thought that this book was okay. Please heed the warning at the beginning of the book...If you can't stomach scenes of domestic violence then this is not for you. The beginning of the book starts with a pretty graphic scene of just that. Adele manages to get herself out of the abusive situation and moves to Virginia where she reinvents herself and meets a group of ultra buff military men who take her under their wings and nurture her back to a confident and strong woman with a backbone. From the description of the men, or her "brothers" I questioned her FIVE year dry spell! That's a long time without some lovin; especially around all that hotness! I would have liked a little more development and background for the relationship between Adele and Stephano, however. It just seemed like there wasn't much to his character. Overall, I did like the book, but towards the end the story just seemed rushed, so I gave it 4 stars.

Love the Alphas

I finished this book a couple of weeks ago at about 12:40 in the morning. I immediately went to my computer and emailed the author. A couple of days after, the author responded -- ain't that cool. I really enjoyed this book. I especially liked the potential for sequels. I love sequels. It is so enjoyable to re-visit prior characters that you loved. This story had sorrow, sadness, encouragement, tons of alpha males (don't you love it), and victory. The IR aspect of the story was neither over-done or ignored, it just was. I like it that way. I don't want to spend pages and pages dealing with black vs. white all around the couple that love each other. I am looking forward to reading more from this author and she expects to continue the stories of the "brothers." Yahoo!

Slow Start but Worth It!

Let me just say if it wasn't for the fact that Adele was destined to be with Stefano the girl certainly had a
SA-weet life with her overprotective brothers. Anyways, just had to get the drool worthy out of the way. Good LAWD, if only a girl could be that lucky.

This is a very endearing story that shows what a lot of courage, tenacity and love from a healthy relationship (and NOT just the love interest - but her adoptive family) that a person can endure and will overcome. I enjoyed this book a lot. The only reason I gave it 4-stars was for the slow start otherwise I recommend it.

Insomnia Cure...terribly dense and obtuse!

I'm using this book for a graduate course as a student. I've worked in field of IT for 25+ years, so I'm no newbie. This book takes topics that are straightforward and makes them extremely complex and theoretical. The liner notes indicate it was translated into English, which would explain some of the awkward phrasing. You'll read a passage, re-read it again and if you do figure out what they are saying you are left to wonder, "why would you say it that way?" Answer, because it was translated! Strange wording, run on sentences, overly theoretical...can you tell I don't like this book!

Other reviewer was correct that it reads like a run -on journal article, replete with citations and examples...most of which do not help.

Avoid it if you can, but if you must use it, find other sources to help explain the concepts and take comfort in fact that in the real world of IT, it's not this hard! If you are new to the field, hang in there, don't let this book scare you off!

I would not recommend using this text.

I am using this textbook for a class this semester. This text is not reader friendly. Just because the topic is complex does not have to mean the book as to be hard to consume. This book is horribly dense. The images of models are seldom explained. My class hates this book. The book reads like journal articles pasted together to get enough information for a book and I sincerely regret the purchase. You will find yourself reading the same sentence over and over again with still little understanding of the intent of the author. The book throws around terms that it assumes the reader should be familiar with...but then if you were familiar with the terms, you wouldn't need their book. It is a really awful book. I will keep looking. If you were unfortunate enough to pick up this book because your teacher was looking for a text on data warehousing, you have my sympathies. Here are some tips. 1) Use other sources of information to supplement the text. The text alone is useless. 2) Read it early in the morning.
